Dr. Boykins - Board Certified Podiatrist and Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine - Foot and Ankle surgeon and has greater than 25 years of healthcare experience. He has vast knowledge and treatment protocols for Pediatric, Diabetic, and Sports Medicine, Wound care, and traumatic foot and ankle pathologies. He also has advanced training in Biologicals such as skin grafts, cartilage regeneration, and growth factor treatment options for arthritic and non-arthritic conditions of foot and ankle. Along with surgical knowledge to perform Arthroscopy (a minimally invasive procedure to view the inside of joints), foot and ankle surgical corrections, and fusion procedures. His knowledge includes usage and understanding of musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound guided restorative procedures for the lower extremity

Background

Dr. Boykins is a veteran of the United States Air Force. During his military enlistment, he served as a non-commissioned officer and Radiological technologist. He received numerous medals and ribbons for his support of Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He was additionally trained in Mass Casualty/ Disaster Team, Chemical warfare, Mobile tactical hospital/ Medical Readiness, and Security /Firearms. Once his service was completed, he returned to Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska. He received his baccalaureate degree in Biotechnology with a minor in Chemistry. Later, he attended the Barry University division of Medicine - School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida. Upon graduating from medical school, Dr. Boykins attended an intensive 3 years surgical and medical residency in New York City and Long Island, New York. During his residency, Dr. Boykins was promoted to Chief resident. After the completion of residency, Dr. Boykins moved to Southern California and went directly into private practice. Within just a few months of Dr. Boykins' arrival in Southern California, he was appointed to the position of President of the Inland Society of California Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Boykins currently has admitting and surgical privileges at Riverside Community Hospital (RCH) and Los Angeles Downtown Medical Center (LADMC).
